The tour itinerary packs a once in a lifetime biking experience through the Himalayas. The package covers 10 districts including all popular tourist destinations and riding over 6 mountain passes across Bhutan.

We provide Royal Enfield Motorcycles (350/500cc), known for their stability, comfort and power. The bikes are regularly maintained and kept in top shape.

Requirement: A rider needs a valid two wheeler/motorcycle driving license

Day 01: Arrive at Phuntsholing

Phuntsholing town is situated in the south western region of Bhutan. The border town links with the Indian state of West Bengal. It is approximately 170 kilometers away from the Bagdogra Indian national airport and 20 kilometers away from the Hasimara Indian Railway station.

Day 02: Phuntsholing - Thimphu

The motorcycle trip begins from Phuntsholing to Thimphu. Thimphu is 176 kilometers away from Phuntsholing. Riders will be able to cruise on the newly widened national highway with well-maintained asphalt. The journey will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. In the afternoon, riders will visit popular attractions in Thimphu.

Day 03: Thimphu - Chelela - Haa - Paro

Bikers will begin an early ride to Haa valley. The way to Haa diverts from the Chuzom (confluence) 30 kilometers away from Thimphu. The road navigates through the forest and consistent twist and turns making the riding fun and challenging. The highlight for the day would be passing through the Chelela pass while returning to Paro. Chelela pass is Bhutan’s highest motor able road at 3900 meters. Mount Jomolhari will be visible from the pass if the weather permits.

Day 04: Paro - Punakha

An hour and half into the journey, riders will arrive at Dochula Pass at 3100 meters. It offers travelers a panoramic view of the Eastern Himalayan range. Bikers may choose to stop at the cafeteria for a hot cup of coffee or tea to warm up.

From the pass, it is a gradual descent to Punakha valley and the climatic condition changes considerably. Punakha is warmer and humid. In the afternoon, riders will visit popular attractions in Punakha.

Day 05: Punakha - Gangtey

The experience of riding to Gangtey valley may inspire a journey within. The idyllic valley of Gangtey is part of an important wildlife preserve and is home to the endangered migratory black necked cranes. The birds fly south to the valley from Tibet during the winter months before flying back early spring. The valley is spread with open marshy lands dotted with typical Bhutanese houses, farms secluded by high rising ridge. The quaint valley is a perfect destination to disconnect from the world.

Day 06: Gangtey - Bumthang

After a short ride, riders will pull back into the national highway and immediately arrive at Pelela pass beyond which is considered eastern region by locals. Gradual descent and continue riding east, riders will arrive in Trongsa, a small town along the national highway. The Trongsa Dzong is one of the biggest fortresses in the country. Riders will begin to climb up the Yotongla pass before descending to Chumey Bumthang.

Day 07: Sightseeing in Bumthang

Riders take the day off exploring the Bumthang valley and unwind and prepare for the long journey ahead to the east.

Day 08: Bumthang - Trashigang

Riders begin their journey from central to eastern Bhutan. It will be a long 285 kilometers ride. Riders will pass through Thrumshingla pass before descending to Mongar region. The climate gets warmer and humid again. From Mongar, it will take another 2 hour ride to Tashigang.

Day 09: Trashigang - Samdrupjongkhar

This will be the final leg of the journey. The vegetation along the road will be similar to the ride from Phuntsholing to Thimphu. Samdrup Jongkhar town links to the Indian state of Assam. It is roughly 105 kilometers away from Guwahati International airport.

Day 10: Departure

Riders will exit Bhutan through Guwahati India.
